Species Checklists
Flora

India has a rich floral diversity that comprises over 17,000 flowering plants, nearly 5,000 of which are endemic to the country. The IUCN's Red Data book lists 152 endangered and 102 vulnerable Indian plant species. These plants form the base of the ecological pyramid and are linked with the many insect, bird and animal species in the biosphere.
